After passing the U.N Security Council resolution 986(Oil for food), one of the vast areas that the U.N started working on was the removal of mines. And we at Ararat were amongst the very first to work with UNOPS and provide them with an array of mine detection devices and at the same time provide our services in the removal of mines from the different regions across Iraq. After the second gulf war we were still very active in the mine removal process which was then funded by the United States government. This later became the responsibility of the KRG. And we are proud to say that to this day we still provide the KRG with our highest quality of services and have helped in the clearing of very tricky and dangerous fields all over the KRG.
Ararat is not just known in Iraq, but it is also known internationally for its involvement in mine clearing. For its innovations and creations of many mechanical tools, several of which have been registered with the GICHD in Geneva.
We at Ararat firmly believe that removing mines and clearing out our country of them is much more of humanitarian mission than that of a profit one. Therefore we are at constant effort to improve on both quality and quantity.
